It’s true. 1 out of 3 women suffer from Acne at least once in their lifetime. You are not alone. I’ve been there. I know what it’s like to avoid family gatherings, holiday parties and other social events because I felt like all eyes were on me, or rather, my awful skin. Sound familiar? The days of hiding are now a thing of the past. It’s time to call a truce. You don’t have to settle for anything less than clear, radiant looking skin.
There are many things that cause breakouts like allergies, adolescence and even heredity. Today, we are going to talk about 3 Surprising Acne Causes. Truth be told, they aren’t very obvious!
Studies over the years have proven the way we feel on the inside can have a HUGE impact the way our skin behaves. Why? Most of our nerve endings are connected to the skin that wraps around our organs, so when we’re stressed out, our skin does too! Stanford University proved this theory during a study a few years back. They found out that out of the entire school year, students had more breakouts during exams, when the pressure was on!
It may surprise you that much of the food we eat can have a major impact on our complexion. A sugary or simple carb diet such as honey, soft drinks, bagels and pasta can really throw off insulin levels which causes your skin and face to become not only irritated, but seriously angry! When we replace those foods with green, leafy vegetables, which contain a huge amount of vitamin E and rich antioxidants, we will begin to see a huge improvement in our skin.
Lack of Sleep
When we sleep, our bodies go into repair mode, restoring skin tissue and rebuilding Collagen.When we don’t get enough sleep, we interrupt this process. They don’t call it “beauty sleep” for nothing! If this isn’t enough reason to get your 8 hours in, I don’t know what is!
