Your Top 10 KmS Mineral Essentials Questions Answered Part 2

In part one, we talked about 5 of the top 10 questions I get asked most from our customers, I didn’t want to leave you hanging for the final 5, so, here we go!

QUESTION 6- I’d like to try mineral makeup, but the loose powder looks really messy. Is there anything I can do to minimize this?

Lay a dark towel or rag over the sink, counter, or wherever you apply your makeup to catch any extra powder that may fall from your brush. Our foundation jars have a handy “twist and double lock” sifter which makes it much easier to take it with you without the worry of spillage in your purse or makeup bag. Instead of opening the sifter all the way when applying your makeup, expose only 3 or 4 holes in the sifter. This way you’ll have less product to lose if the jar is accidentally knocked off the counter.

And of course, if you just don’t care for the loose makeup, you can always opt for pressed.

QUESTION 7- I’d like to try mineral makeup, but I need good coverage, and I’ve heard it doesn’t cover very well. Is this true?

Not at all. This is one of the biggest misconceptions about mineral makeup. What I love about our foundation is you have complete control over the coverage you get. First, mineral makeup is build able, which means you start with applying very little, and then continue applying until you are happy with the coverage.

The type of coverage you get also depends on the type of makeup brush you use. A large fluffy Kabuki brush gives minimal coverage because the bristles are further apart. If you’re looking for a medium to full coverage, a flat or application face brush is best.

QUESTION 8- What is the difference between your Loose Flawless and Select Botanical Foundation?

KmS Original Flawless Mineral Foundation is the perfect choice for combination and oily skin because it contains Kaolin Clay, an incredible oil absorbing mineral. Our Select Botanical Mineral Makeup is recommended for normal, dry and aging skin because it contains 6 nourishing botanicals that soothe and hydrate dry, stressed skin while creating a moisture lock between your skin and the elements.

QUESTION 9- I’m a minimalist when it comes to makeup. I Don’t want to wear any more than I have to. All I want is to even my skin tone. Will mineral makeup work for me?

Most definitely. That’s the beauty of mineral makeup. Many of our customers choose to wear just our foundation and enjoy the benefits of a balance to their skin tone, natural skin protection and skin loving ingredients that help to not only to heal, but to conceal as well.

QUESTION 10- I’m so afraid mineral makeup will make me look too “powdery”. Do you have any tips?

When applying your foundation be sure to start with a very little amount. Always tap the brush on the edge of your jar or lid to get rid of the excess powder before you begin to apply. The “powdered” look usually happens when too much is used at once. If you notice you’ve used too much, there’s an easy fix! With a clean fluffy brush, swipe around your nose, chin and ears where powder tends to collect.

Do you have a question I haven’t covered? Post it below and I’ll get back with you soon.

4 Things You Didn’t Know About Mineral Foundation

Sure, you’ve been wearing it mineral foundationfor years, but do you really know everything there is to know about mineral foundation? Here are 4 things you probably didn’t know.

1. Foundation Doesn’t Just Even Your Complexion

You’ve probably assumed the sole purpose of foundation was to cover up imperfections and even out your skin tone. But, did you know it protects your skin as well? It acts as a barrier between your skin and the elements, preventing dirt and debris from absorbing into your skin.

2. If You’re Not Getting the Coverage You Want, Your Foundation Most Likely is Not the Problem

Did you know the type of coverage you want lies in the brush you use to apply it? It’s true. For example. If you’re looking for medium to full coverage, stay away from the kabuki brush. Why? Because a standard Kabuki Brush is a lot like a large powder brush; big and fluffy with a wide span of the bristles. It works great for a light dusting of finishing powder, but, it you want a full coverage, choose an application or flat brush. The bristles are tight together which packs the product tight; allowing the application to be more concentrated.

3. Finding Your Perfect Match is Much Easier Than You Think

I’ve found a very common thread when consulting with our customers over the years. The most frequently asked question? “How can I find the right shade for me?” The answer is to first figure out what type of undertone you have. I know it may sound complicated, but it’s as easy as the color of the veins on your wrist! If your veins are blue, your undertone is cool, if they’re green, your undertone is warm and a combination of both blue and green represent neutral or olive undertones.

4. Your foundation won’t perform its best until you get a handle on the skin underneath

So many times I’ve heard women say things like, “mineral makeup doesn’t last all day for me” or “my skin is oily and mineral makeup makes it worse.” And do you  know what? They’re right! Mineral makeup is only as good as the condition of your skin before you apply your makeup. This means you need to properly and consistently care for your skin’s needs (whether it be dry, oily or both) with the right skin care plan.
